Haven't blogged in a little bit, but that's alright I guess.
Well anyway, I've watched the two Mesrine movies recently and they're utterly brilliant. Mesrine was a famous French criminal in around the 60s and 70s (Though the back of the DVD box says 70s and 80s, he died in 1979...) . The first movie goes through the lead up to his life of crime and a good few bank robberies, hold-ups and such. The second one is pretty much all about him breaking out of prisons and robbing banks. The two parts are about two hours each, but the time really flies. This really is the best gangster movie(s) I've ever seen.
One kinda weird thing though, between the two parts, the actor who plays Mesrine (Vincent Cassel) gets really fat. I can't decide if this was intended or not. Fair enough it's a story that spans around 15 - 20 years, but still.
If anyone wants to check them out, Part 1 is called Killer Instinct and Part 2 is called Public Enemy Number 1.
That's about it for now

WoW
So I finally gave up WoW. I'm one of the few who thought Wrath of the Lich King was actually pretty good because I could play it semi casually and still do most of the raids and dungeons. Cataclysm came along and the amount of time you have to sink into it to get even one or two pieces of gear is simply astounding. Does Blizzard think their playerbase is made up of a bunch of 15 year olds on permanent holidays?
I will admit though, the new questing was very fun, especially the new questchain in Redridge. My friend and I did the whole thing together and it was a blast. Outland remains a big problem though. It's just a place no one really wants to be. Its got terrible old style quests and some really boring looks. I mean Hellfire Peninsula is just orangey red everywhere, with 'Kill 10 HELLboars for a new sword' everywhere.
While I enjoyed my time with WoW, it just doesn't interest me anymore.
Onto bigger and better things!

Black Ops MP
Man, I really can't get over Blops. It makes me rage so much, but I can't stop coming back!
The main thing that annoys me is the weapons:
Everyone uses the AK74u or the FAMAS. Why use the PM63 or Uzi when you have the AK74u? It's pretty much an assault rifle. It can take the grenade launcher attachement!
As for the FAMAS, it's at least a bit better than the AK74u. It's not a million times better than all the other assault rifles and its just got the assault rifle attachments. It'd be balanced if it actually had recoil. I think in the next patch, both the FAMAS and the AK74u should be nerfed.
AK74u:
Rapid fire and grenade launcher attachements removed
Hip fire accuracy reduced
FAMAS:
Increased recoil
Hip fire accuracy reduced
Oh and also Claymores:
Claymores now fill the Grenade slot instead of the equipment slot. That'll make people think twice about using them.
Well, that's about it I guess.

The Wire
So I've been watching The Wire recently (I know, I'm about 8 years late) and I really think it's the best show I've ever watched. I mean, I used to think House was the pinnacle of television until now (it sorta was until House and Cuddy got together but that's a whole other blog post) but this really blows it out of the water.
Just finished season 2 and I couldn't help but feel pretty sad at the end. I mean, Frank was so awesome!
I guess season 3 will be more like season 1, focusing on Stringer and Avon etc.
So, if any viewers can reccomend something similar, that's actually on TV now, it'd be much appreciated.
I've heard good things about Boardwalk Empire, but it doesn't really seem like my kind of thing...
Well, that's it for my first proper post
